A native of South Carolina, Mr. Searles joined the U.S. Army in November 1983 and completed Basic Training at Fort Jackson, S.C.  Attending the Motor Transport Operation and Logistics Management School at Fort Leonardwood, Mo., and Fort Lee, Va., in April and September 1984, respectively.
 
Mr. Searles served 11 years of active duty service (enlisted Soldier) in Mannheim and Berlin Germany, Fort Carson, Colo., Fort Gillem and Fort Stewart, Ga., responsible for management of unit motor vehicle assets and logistics such as scheduled maintenance, repairs and usage reports.  During his service, Mr. Searles also support training exercises in Kuwait and Germany, excelling in Motor Transport Operations.  Upon completion of service, he was honorably discharged from service in 1994 at Fort Stewart, Ga., transitioning to the private sector as a Logistics Management Specialist for Northrop Grumman, solely responsible for scheduling of maintenance and repairs of commands M1 Abrams tank fleet ensuring combat readiness.
 
In 1995, Mr. Searles relocated to Dallas, Texas, and attended the International Aviation and Travel Academy (IATA) where he trained to become a licensed Aircraft Flight Dispatcher, which consisted of performing pre-flight duties, providing pilot’s individual flight plans, weather assessments, reviews of weight, fuel and cargo loads.  Mr. Searles was licensed as an Aircraft Flight Dispatcher in 1996; achieving this, also sparked his interest in computers. 
 
In 1997, Mr. Searles was offered a Department Manager position with Labat-Anderson (sub- contractor for Immigration Naturalization & Service) where he also administered the organization’s Time Keeping server (Window NT 5.0).  While assigned as Department Manager, he obtained the Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer for Windows NT 5.0; validating knowledge as an experienced systems administrator. 
 
In 2001, Mr. Searles transitioned into Federal service, accepting a USCS position with Immigration Naturalization and services as a systems administrator of Windows Servers in a Novell mixed environment and a Backup and recovery admin. 
 
In 2004, Mr. Searles relocated to Okinawa Japan as the S6 Department Head for the 835th Transportation Battalion, managing the commands ashore and forward deployed networks; deploying as needed supporting the commands requirements.  In 2011, Mr. Searles relocated to Honolulu, Hawaii to be the Senior Administrator for Microsoft Exchange and Windows Domain Controllers.
